For this year's Friends of Camp McDowell campaign, we are raising $50,000 to renovate, remodel, and expand the Director's Cabin, known as the Kremlin, in Lower Camp.

The Director’s Cabin is used year round and sees activity from the McDowell Environmental Center and McDowell Summer Camp. The MEC uses the cabin to host their lead teachers during the school year, and Summer Camp uses the cabin as the main hub for all summer camp operations. This cabin was built to accommodate a staff of 10, but now we have a staff of 40 or more during the summer. Beyond lodging, the cabin is used daily for meetings. Through the Friends of Camp McDowell Campaign we plan to expand the main meeting room, update bathrooms and bedrooms, renovate the kitchen with new appliances, and add a new screened in porch off the back of the building.
